A 35 year-old San Francisco graphic designer was walking to work in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Spear and Harrison Streets in the SOMA District when a car turned left and hit him.
The driver who caused the accident was distracted (suspected to be on his cellphone at the time of the accident). The impact was shocking and threw the pedestrian to the ground, so he was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital by ambulance.
He however did not sustain overly serious injuries. Fortunately, he only suffered a sprained knee and a significant laceration to his head. The pedestrian made a claim for his medical expenses, a modest loss of earnings and his pain and suffering.
He happily made the decision to settle his case for the reasonable amount of $90,000 just two months after finishing his medical treatment related to the case.
