Amber Via

Legal Assistant

Legal Assistant Amber Rains is a Florida native who has dedicated her life to giving a voice to the underdog. A graduate from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, she immediately began working in Elder Law, but found her passion in helping clients with their personal injury cases.

Amber measures her greatest success as putting clients at ease and is never afraid to aggressively pursue their interests.

When she is not working with Sally Morin Professional Corporation to advocate for her clients, she enjoys yoga, playing tennis, playing pool, and supporting her favorite charities. In her free time, she volunteers weekly in feeding the homeless, speaks at adoption seminars, and serves in a local effort to house at-risk age-out foster girls.

GET TO KNOW AMBER

Why did you choose to go into the legal field?
Advocacy is a passion of mine that I practice in my free time by working with charities benefiting those less fortunate. I devote most of my time to a local charity for housing aged-out foster youth. As my career, fighting for those who don’t have the resources to fight for themselves.

What’s the best career decision you’ve ever made?
Taking the leap to work for a small firm across the country! I went from a safe, stable office job at a large law firm to a quirky woman-run boutique firm 2,000 miles away. All of the women at Sally Morin Personal Injury Lawyers have been instrumental in my growth as both a person and in my career. This leap of faith has given me amazing friends and colleagues that have not only been amazing to work with, but have turned into a support system that I can’t imagine living without at this time in my life.

What’s your favorite food?
Biscuits and gravy, Southern through and through!

What’s the silliest thing you’ve ever done?
Does eating pie in the bathtub in order to keep it all for myself count? Multiple times?

Finish this sentence. One weird thing about me most people don’t know is:
I have a crazy obsession with yarn. I crochet but I have way more yarn than I could hook in the next 10 years!

What’s your personal motto or philosophy?
A life spent helping others is a life filled with purpose.
