100-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck By a Mini Cooper near Snow Park and Lake Merritt Resulting in Death
The Oakland Police Department is searching for the driver of the car involved in a Sunday morning crash that killed a 100-year-old man near Snow Park and Lake Merritt. The collision was reported just after 7 a.m., and when officers arrived at the scene, they found the elderly victim with severe head trauma. Unfortunately, medical personnel were unable to save him and he died at the site of the accident. The driver of the vehicle, suspected to be a Mini Cooper in either tan or white, fled after hitting the centenarian who was an Oakland resident and has not yet been identified. Although it remains unknown whether alcohol or drugs played any role in this tragedy, investigators urge anyone with information in regards to this tragic incident to contact them so they can pursue justice.
