A Bicycle Collides with Lexus Resulting in Death

Ruben Razo Jr., a bicyclist who was hit by a car and died earlier this month, has been identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office. The collision occurred on September 11 at 9:49 p.m. at Murphy and Ringwood avenues in San Jose, California. According to police, Razo was riding an electric bicycle eastbound in the No. 1 lane of Murphy when he came to a stop at the intersection despite having a green light. A 2017 Lexus sedan traveling in the same direction and lane then rear-ended the bicycle. Razo was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries and was stabilized, but later died from his injuries. The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. There were no signs of alcohol or drug impairment, police said. 

The man who was injured in the car accident on Wednesday died from his injuries. This makes it the 48th fatal collision and 50th traffic fatality of the year in San Jose.
