A 44-year-old Antioch woman Killed in Car Accident in Oakland Hills

A tragic incident occurred in the Oakland hills early Tuesday morning when a 44-year-old Antioch woman was killed and a 48-year-old Antioch man, who authorities determined to have been driving under the influence of alcohol, was arrested. The incident took place at 12:44 am on Grizzly Peak Boulevard when the vehicle they were travelling in lost control while approaching a turn, leading it to careen down an embankment nearly 200 feet off the roadway.

Upon arriving at the scene of the crash, emergency response teams sadly pronounced her dead due to injuries suffered from being ejected from the car. The names of those involved have not been released. According to police, the man was stable and under arrest at the hospital. Police traffic investigators remained on the scene several hours later.
