Honda Collides with California Highway Patrol Resulting in Injuries.

Three people were injured early Friday morning after a three-vehicle crash on I-280, the California Highway Patrol announced on social media. The crash occurred when a drunk driver going the wrong way collided with an intentionally-placed CHP vehicle on the highway near Hickey Boulevard. One CHP officer, one citizen and the wrong-way driver were all injured in the crash. The driver was arrested for felony DUI and is currently being treated at a local hospital. After he is released from the hospital, he will be booked at the San Mateo County Jail for charges that include felony driving the wrong way causing injury. CHP officers received 911 calls around 4:07 a.m. that a silver Honda was going northbound in the southbound lanes of I-280 near State Route 92 in San Mateo.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol were conducting a traffic break on southbound I-280 near Serramonte Boulevard when they observed a Honda speeding towards them. The Honda attempted to pass the patrol cars, but ended up crashing into one of them instead. One citizen was injured in the collision, and the Honda sustained significant damage to its front right passenger door. No further details have been released at this time.
