Harley-Davidson Motorcyclist killed in a single vehicle collision

On Father’s Day Sunday, a motorcyclist tragically died in a single-vehicle traffic collision in Adelanto. The California Highway Patrol received reports of the crash at around 1:20 pm. The rider – who was the solo occupant of the motorcycle – was travelling along State Route 18 when, for reasons still under investigation, their purple Harley-Davidson went down along the right hand shoulder of the westbound lane. CHP Officer Mohatt said that the fire department arrived on scene before CHP and attempted life-saving measures but, sadly, were unsuccessful. The victim’s wife – who had attended church services with her husband that morning – was following behind in a vehicle when she came upon the accident scene. This tragic incident is a stark reminder of just how dangerous motorcycles can be. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s friends and family during this difficult time.

Officer Mohat wants to remind drivers to be cautious in an ongoing construction area where a traffic collision occurred. The construction is taking place on the roadway from Highway US 395 to the Los Angeles county line and is expected to be completed in the next couple of weeks. Officer Mohat stated that there is a lift on the asphalt which possibly could have been contributing to the traffic collision. He urges drivers to be aware of all signage around the construction site. The identity of the deceased rider will be released by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.

HOW A MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT LAWYER HELPS YOUR CASE

It’s within your rights to handle your legal motorcycle accident case by yourself, but it’s a stressful and risky thing to do. An insurance company will typically toss out a lowball offer when they know you don’t have a lawyer. They’ll assume you don’t know what you’re doing and will say they owe you less because you’re not paying a lawyer.

Plus, an insurance company usually offers compensation for your past medical bills, but what about your future treatment? Your mental health counseling? Your lost days of work? The value of your motorcycle? This could easily be tens of thousands of dollars, if not more.

Your pain and suffering should be valued. Compensation for pain and suffering is protected by California law and should never be undervalued by an insurance company that’s pressing you for a quick settlement.

At Sally Morin Personal Injury Lawyers, we offer a free consultation and we don’t take our fee until the conclusion of your case after you’ve already covered the costs of your motorcycle accident. So let’s talk about your crash in a free and confidential consultation!
