Head-On Collision in Riverside Results in Injuries and Death of 8-year-old Boy

Tragedy struck in Riverside early Tuesday morning as a head-on collision claimed the life of an eight-year-old boy and left four others injured and hospitalized. The accident occurred at the intersection of Arlington and Stover Avenues and involved a gray Nissan sedan and a white Honda sedan. According to home security footage obtained by KTLA, it appears that the driver of the Honda lost control of their vehicle, causing it to veer into the Nissan’s path. The outcome was a brutal impact that sent debris flying into nearby yards. The female adult and three juveniles in the Nissan were all taken to the hospital with critical to serious injuries. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of first responders, the eight-year-old boy passed away due to his injuries.

The man driving the Honda was hospitalized in serious condition after his vehicle plowed through several parked cars and collided with a young girl. According to one neighbor who witnessed the crash, speeding is a constant problem on the busy Arlington Avenue, with terrifying accidents like this occurring all too frequently. In fact, the neighbor had experienced such fear firsthand, when a truck demolished her bedroom wall just last month. Clearly, the residents of this area are desperate for a solution, as they implore the city to install traffic signals or stop signs to keep them safe. While the police continue to investigate the cause of the accident, locals are left to wonder when the next tragedy will strike.
