Pedestrian Fatally Struck Walking on Fern Dell Drive at Griffith Park in Los Angeles
On Saturday afternoon, a man was fatally struck by a driver at Griffith Park in Los Angeles. The victim was walking on Fern Dell Drive near a parking lot close to the trails that lead to the Griffith Observatory when the driver hit him and took off. The man was taken to the hospital where he later died. Police are now looking for the driver, though a vehicle description was not immediately available. Investigators confirmed the driver is a woman. “A dispute occurred prior to the accident happening,” said LAPD Det. Daniel Ramirez, who said the investigation was still in its preliminary stages. Sal Sendik, who was getting ready to run when the incident occurred, said people immediately began calling for help. “This is not something you expect to see in a peaceful part of L.A. on a weekend, and a spot where people try to escape the city,” he said.
