Hit-and-Run Accident on 215 Freeway Results in Pedestrian Death

Tragedy struck on Monday when a fatal collision occurred between a vehicle and a pedestrian on the southbound lanes of Interstate 215. Reports indicate that a Honda SUV or truck was involved, and the driver fled the scene. The California Highway Patrol promptly dispatched Riverside units around 1:45 A.M. to investigate.

The driver of the Honda drifted onto the right shoulder, crashing into a 38-year-old man from Lake Elsinore who was refueling his disabled Chevrolet Silverado. The collision resulted in the death of the man at the scene. What makes this even more devastating is that the driver of the Honda fled the scene, leaving investigators to piece together the clues.

The California Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in identifying the vehicle that fled the scene. Investigators retrieved vehicle parts they believe to belong to the Honda SUV or truck involved. However, they lack crucial details necessary to identify the responsible party. Officers revealed that the vehicle has substantial damage on its right side, and this information could be vital in tracking down those responsible for the collision.
