Toyota Camry Hits Pedestrian in San Rafael Resulting In Death

On Wednesday night, a pedestrian was killed in San Rafael, California after being struck by a car. The incident occurred around 9:20 pm at the Lucas Valley Road off-ramp near Highway 101 northbound. The victim, a 35-year-old Novato resident, was walking across the off-ramp and towards a bus stop when he was hit by the front of a 2017 Toyota Camry. The driver of the Toyota, a 21-year-old man from San Rafael, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The authorities said that drugs or alcohol do not appear to have been a factor in the crash. The bus stop near Lucas Valley Road is located approximately a five-minute walk from the Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Park Medical Offices on Los Gamos Drive.
