Pedestrian Struck by a Vehicle in Mission District Resulting in Death

The San Francisco Police Department is investigating a tragic scene that unfolded early Sunday morning when a vehicle and pedestrian collided at the intersection of 16th and Capp Streets in the Mission District. The collision injured an adult female who was subsequently transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries; however, the suspect vehicle allegedly fled the scene afterward. Investigation has revealed surveillance video that captures incredible damage done to the vehicle as well as it being pushed onto the 16th Street sidewalk.

As of yet, police have arrested a suspect involved in this incident, though further details remain unknown for now as investigations progress regarding this fateful crash. After a heartbreaking initial collision, officers were quickly dispatched to a second crash at 16th and Potrero, involving the same suspect driver. When they arrived at the scene, an adult male victim and suspect driver both sustained injuries. Despite diligent efforts from aid-workers, unfortunately, the victim passed away as a result of his wounds.
