Swerving Vehicle Hits and Kills Man and Woman Standing Next to their Mercedes on Highway 17 in Campbell
A fatal crash on Highway 17 in Campbell has left a man and a woman dead. The incident occurred early Friday morning and shut down the highway for three hours. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved multiple vehicles and happened just north of Hamilton Avenue. The tragic events unfolded when a Mercedes stalled in one of the southbound lanes, and the man and woman were standing near the vehicle. As an approaching car swerved to avoid the Mercedes, it struck both people, leading to their deaths. The cause of the Mercedes stalling is still unknown, and it’s unclear why the pair were standing in the line of traffic. The CHP issued a Sig-alert, and the blocked lanes were cleared by just before 7 a.m.
