Tragedy Strikes Fremont as Child Fatally Struck by Car in Parking Lot 

An unspeakable tragedy occurred in Fremont on Thursday, as a 2-year-old was struck by a moving vehicle in a parking lot on Mowry Ave. Despite efforts by firefighters and paramedics who treated the juvenile on the scene, the child ultimately passed away from their injuries after being rushed to Eden Hospital.

The news of an increasing number of fatal traffic collisions is always heart-wrenching. Unfortunately, it has become a norm to hear about such tragic incidents every once in a while. In this case, Fremont woke up to the sad news of their seventh fatal traffic collision of 2023. The report highlights that the driver who hit the child cooperated with the investigators and stayed at the scene.

The Fremont Police Traffic Unit is taking up the mantle of investigation at this time and while it’s some relief to know that speed and impairment don’t seem to have played a role in the accident, it’s still critical to get to the bottom of what actually happened.
