Sedan Collides with Semi-truck in Porter Ranch Resulting in Death

A devastating wrong-way crash on the Ronald Reagan Freeway in Porter Ranch early Sunday morning resulted in two fatalities and left two others injured, according to authorities. The California Highway Patrol reported the incident, which occurred around 4:25 a.m., involving a dark-colored sedan traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes. The sedan collided with a semi-truck, causing the vehicle to land on the embankment of the Tampa Avenue off-ramp.

Tragically, two people were pronounced dead at the scene, while paramedics arrived swiftly at 4:30 a.m. to transport the two injured victims to regional trauma centers, as stated by Brian Humphrey from the Los Angeles Fire Department. In response to the crash, authorities issued a Sigalert at 4:53 a.m., closing the Tampa Avenue off-ramp and the No. 3 and 4 lanes of the westbound freeway for at least two hours. The Sigalert was extended at 7:11 a.m. until approximately 9 a.m.A representative from the coroner’s office was called to the scene at 5:44 a.m.
