I just spent the last 8 months working with a team of caring, compassionate, relatable women for my personal injury claim. Brief background: I was hit by a car while riding my bike to work. The driver pulled out of a parallel parking space without looking and was completely at fault. Initially, he and the others in the car were very concerned, but ghosted us afterwards and made up a story in order to not take on the blame. I ended up needing surgery and costs mounted, so I sought legal advice. After much research, I settled on Sally Morin Law. The team at this law firm is invested and responsive in a very personable way. I specifically worked with Carmen and Annie. Carmen took the lead and she answered every email, text, and annoying question my husband and I sent her way. She wrote a detailed demand letter that personalized my case and thoroughly explained the impact the accident had on my life, my children's lives, and my husband's life. In the end, our own insurance policy covered the claim to the fullest amount. Additionally, Carmen was able to negotiate the medical lien to $0, and my husband received a separate smaller amount for loss of consortium. We are more than happy with the results as it’s way beyond what we expected, and completely life changing. We didn't proceed with the case thinking we would have the outcome we did, and almost didn't pursue the case. However, after spending my own money on copays, days off from work, take out, uber rides, babysitters, and special equipment, it just didn't feel right not to seek help and I am so glad that I did! I highly recommend Sally Morin Law!

Which Types of Personal Injury Cases in Dublin Do You Handle?

Our team at Sally Morin Personal Injury Lawyers has years of experience handling various personal injury cases in and around the Dublin, CA area. Our hardworking and dedicated attorneys know what it takes to ensure the best possible outcome for your case.

Some of the personal injury cases we handle include the following:

Car Accidents

Residents of California are all too familiar with how bad the traffic gets here. And it’s even worse in more populated areas like Dublin in the Bay Area. But, if you or a loved one are seriously injured in a car accident, we can help. We’ll guide you through every step of the claims process and ensure you are fairly compensated for your losses and suffering.

Bicycle Accidents

One of the many benefits of living in California is the beautiful weather. Because we have such a temperate climate year-round, many residents enjoy outdoor activities like bicycling. There is even a high number of people who use their bikes as a primary mode of transportation. Unfortunately, bicycle accidents can be tragic. If you were injured in Dublin in a bicycle accident, don’t hesitate to reach out to our legal team for assistance.

Pedestrian Accidents

Not only do people love to bike here in the Bay Area, but it’s also so nice out all the time that people enjoy walking as well. The cities in the Bay Area are major tourist destinations, which means we get a lot of foot traffic. Unfortunately, adding pedestrians into the mix of already congested roadways often results in tragic accidents. If you or a loved one were injured in a pedestrian accident, we are here to help ensure you get the high settlement you deserve.

Dog Attacks

California has some of the country’s most strict leash and dog ownership laws. Still, despite these laws, there are high rates of dog attacks in California, especially in the more densely populated areas. If you were attacked and bitten by a dog in the Dublin area, we can help you hold the owner accountable. We’ll also help you build a compelling case to ensure you are fairly compensated for your injuries.

Rideshare Accidents

As the birthplace of Lyft and Uber, California has the highest number of rideshare drivers in the country. Unfortunately, this means we also tend to see higher rates of rideshare accidents. If you need assistance filing a claim against Uber or Lyft for compensation, we are here to help. Rideshare cases are not easy to navigate and are more challenging to win, but our experienced attorneys know what it takes to ensure the best possible outcome.

Scooter Accidents

Similar to bike riding, electric scooters are also popular in California. This includes both scooters that people own, as well as electric scooter rental services, like Lime and Bird. However, dealing with a scooter accident claim can be complex, as insurance can be a little tricky in these cases. Nevertheless, if you were injured on a scooter in Dublin, we can help you understand the best course of action to take to get your medical bills and other damages covered.

Dangerous Roadways and Intersections in Dublin

For all the boons of living in Dublin, it has its downsides — primarily the traffic. The East Bay area, in general, is home to some of the deadliest roads in the state of California. But Dublin residents, in particular, tend to see more issues because the city is located almost directly in the middle of the crossroads of two major interstate highways — 580 and 680. These highways connect much of the East Bay Area to the larger cities of San Francisco and San Jose, which means there tends to be a lot of traffic and accidents in the area.

What to Do After a Personal Injury Accident

The steps you take after an accident can play a major role in the outcome of your case. So we’ve put together this little guide to help you:

Get to safety: Your well-being should be your number one priority. So after an accident, quickly assess your situation and get yourself and any passengers to a safe spot out of the roadway if possible.

Address your injuries: If you are injured and need medical attention, call the police and have them send emergency medical responders. Otherwise, you should wait until the police arrive to file a report, and then you can schedule an appointment with your doctor or go to urgent care if needed.

Start gathering evidence right away: It’s beneficial to your case to have as much evidence as possible, so if you can, start gathering evidence immediately at the scene of the accident. This includes info from first responders, making sure the police file a report, taking photos and videos of the accident and your injuries, getting contact info from the other drivers involved, and getting contact information from any other witnesses. After you leave the scene, ensure you continue to document everything related to the accident and your injuries and keep copies of all medical documents.

File a claim: After the accident, you will need to contact your insurance company to get a claim started. If the other party is at fault, the claim will be filed against their insurance company. When doing this, make sure you do not say anything that could be construed as admitting fault.

Contact an attorney: Once you have filed your claim, you should consult an attorney for next steps. They can help you navigate the claims process, handle communications with the other parties involved, help you file any other paperwork, gather more evidence needed, and ensure you are awarded the full settlement you deserve.

How are Personal Injury Claims Calculated?

It’s not uncommon for clients to want clarification on how their personal injury claims will be calculated. While each case is unique, and thus the final settlement amount will vary from case to case, there is a general method that allows insurance companies and the court to come up with an amount — and this method involves calculating your damages.

First, the extent of your injuries and the cost of your medical expenses will be calculated, which will play a significant role in how much your settlement is worth. Next, they will look at the wages or income you have lost due to your injuries and recovery time. This can include calculating your future loss of earning power if you can’t return to work in the same capacity as you once did.

Finally, they will evaluate your level of pain and suffering. In other words, how much pain are you in, and to what extent is your injury affecting your life? Generally, the worse the injury is, the more your pain and suffering is because your life is more severely affected, which means you should be awarded more money.

Living in Dublin, California

Dublin is a thriving city in the East Bay area, named one of the top ten best places to live in America and the second fastest-growing city in California. The city has also long been known as the crossroads of the Bay Area due to its location and origins, which date back to the 1700s.

The earliest residents were indigenous tribes, such as the Seunen, Souyen, and Pelnen tribes, who used trading trails that crossed over the area that is now Dublin. The area later became a famous crossroads for Spanish and Mexican explorers, missionaries, and soldiers traveling through the valley. The town then became known as Dublin in the late 1800s due to the large number of Irish immigrants who settled there.

Today, Dublin is known for its fast-growing population, vibrant community, excellent schools, and beautiful outdoor parks. The city is home to over 800 acres of open space, including the Dublin Hills Regional Park, with miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and more.
