Ford Fusion Collides with Black BMW in Woodside in Wrong Way Accident Resulting in Death

A tragic accident on Interstate 280 in Woodside has sparked a legal battle. Constellatia Martin, a 24-year-old Campbell woman, was accused of driving the wrong way on the freeway, resulting in the death of Eden Palmer, a San Francisco resident. Martin pleaded not guilty in court this Thursday to the charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI causing injury. Officials say that Martin was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when she collided head-on into Palmer’s black BMW. The accident caused fatal injuries to Palmer and resulted in serious harm to her 16-year-old son.

According to prosecutors, Martin fled the scene of the accident and was later found naked and lying down on a grassy area, 150 yards away. Her behavior was described as erratic, and she shouted out numerous bizarre statements. California Highway Patrol officers noted that her eyes were red and watery, and her speech was rapid. However, Martin refused sobriety tests and a drug influence examination. Despite her attempt to evade the authorities, Martin was eventually arrested and taken to the hospital for injuries. The investigation is ongoing, and it remains to be seen what substance may have been affecting Martin’s behavior.
