Westmont Los Angeles Uber Crash Kills Three Passengers and Leaves Driver Fighting for Life

Tragedy struck early around 5:30 am Saturday morning in Westmont, Los Angeles, as a fatal collision involving an Uber rideshare driver and a speeding vehicle took place. The driver of a white Mercedes-Benz sedan, traveling northbound on Vermont Avenue, went through a red light and hit the Uber driver’s vehicle head-on. Three people lost their lives due to the crash.

All three passengers were women, but their identities have not yet been revealed. The collision also critically injured two others, including the Uber driver. According to witnesses, the impact was likely caused by the Mercedes traveling at an alarming speed of 80 to 85 mph, colliding with the Uber, which was either stationary or making a left turn.

The crash left the busy intersection blocked off for the investigation. Authorities were present, interviewing witnesses who may have seen what happened. One of these witnesses was Victor Gonzalez, who spoke out about what he observed. He shared that the Mercedes involved in the incident indeed was likely speeding perhaps in an attempt to beat the traffic light. However, the driver failed to notice the other car, leading to the tragic collision.

It’s a sobering reminder of the importance of safe driving and the devastating consequences that can arise from reckless behavior on the road. Our thoughts go out to the families and loved ones affected by this terrible incident.
